We have often been asked... "WHERE IS YOUR STORE"???? We created this website to allow our customers access to our line of jewelry. Jan Bennett, the creator and owner of Sun Lyon Studio, spends the majority of her time at her bench, creating and producing her line of jewelry. Jan did experiment with a store for a short time, but found that having a retail store did not allow her to have enough time in her studio, so she closed up the retail store. Jan has designed and built this website as a way of staying in touch with folks. Jan continues to remain accessible thru the website, adding photos and new jewelry items often as possible. We guess you could say that this website is the closest thing to a "Store" that Jan can provide.
Jan's workshop was originally located only on St. Croix but now Jan has a studio in Louisiana and on St. Croix. Because Jan had lived on the island of St. Croix for over 17 years, she wanted to get on the "open roads" for awhile. Jan had been inspired by her life in the islands, but had also been moved by the tragedy which occurred in New Orleans and across the Gulf Coast. Having family directly involved with Katrina, Jan felt that it was time to take her own advise, ..."Life is too short, Live, travel, spend time with your loved ones.....
Jan and her husband, Tom ("the jewelry caddy") went stateside and travelled extensively for three years. Jan and Tom have recently returned to St. Croix to set up shop for an indefinate period of time. Jan Bennett can be found at various art fairs and events, from the Whim Plantations "Starving Artist" events, to Saturday Art Markets in downtown Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
